CAS-PDS kit for vehicles
Collision avoidance and proximity detection system for underground mines, including the ATEX environments (e.g. coal mines)

Complete system with on-vehicle “anchor” devices, Android application and UWB tags for personnel.
Custom UWB protocol for proximity detection and personnel boarding, which was implemented according to the typical scenarios in underground mines:
- Up to 100 meters detection range with 50-80 cm accuracy.
- Detecting quantity and types of the UWB tags on each side: personnel, vehicles.
- Accurate boarding within a vehicle’s perimeter.
- Memorizing and filtering the boarded personnel.
- Fast detection of the new UWB tags and intelligent scheduling of the UWB traffic.
Connectivity features:
- RS-485 from the back/side devices to the front (master) device
- CAN telemetry from the vehicle
- BLE GATT for configuration and data transfers to the Android tablet
- Wi-Fi for RTLS data transfers when operating in the positioning mode
- Supports the UWB Link for file transfers and OTA upgrades
Android application with an ATEX certified or industrial-grade tablet for vehicle drivers:
- Visual notification
- Up to 4 anchor devices per vehicle
- Three operating modes: driving, boarding, parked
- Scanning and assigned the anchor devices over BLE
Supports location tracking of vehicles in parallel with CAS-PDS scenarios - RTLS data is sent over Wi-Fi to the MQTT broker.
Native integration with Leantegra Safe Mining Portal for RTLS and safety features.
